- 40mm insulated panels
- Full perimeter weather seals
- Glazed panel options
A sectional garage door lifts in hinged panels and runs back along the ceiling. It is the standard door on the newer Vanderbijlpark housing and on the riverside estates, and it gives the best seal of any garage door type, which in a town with airborne dust is a stronger argument than usual.
Sectional garage doors we supply in Vanderbijlpark
- Steel sectional doors in ribbed, panelled and flush profiles.
- Insulated sectional doors with a foam core for garages used as living or work space.
- Aluminium and glazed sections where the door is part of the elevation.
- Timber-look finishes for the appearance without the maintenance.
Sealing against fallout
This is the strongest argument for a sectional door here. The panel face sits against the frame all the way round, so bottom, side and head seals actually work. On a property where fine ferrous dust settles on everything, that perimeter seal is the difference between a garage you can store things in and one that coats everything in it.
Headroom, side room and square openings
A sectional door needs around three hundred millimetres above the opening, clear space each side for the tracks, and a reasonably true reveal. The planned housing here generally has the headroom, which is why sectional doors work well on it. Where an older or altered garage does not, we recommend a roll-up shutter instead.
Replacing across a street or a portfolio
Because whole streets share a house type, a sectional door specified for one property fits the next. For a landlord or an agent with several houses that means one specification, one colour and one price per unit, and we will quote it that way.
Insulated sectional doors
An insulated door makes a real difference where the garage is a workshop, a gym, an office or a flatlet. Insulated panels are also stiffer and quieter, and they dent less in Highveld hail.
Finishes that wash clean
A textured finish holds ferrous dust and looks tired quickly. We specify smooth, hard finishes on doors close to the plant so they can be rinsed down and come back clean.
Springs, balance and safety
A sectional door is balanced by torsion assemblies, and that balance is what protects the motor. We rate them to the door mass and the cycle count, fit cable safety devices where the design calls for them, and check the balance by hand at every service.
Motorising a sectional garage door
Rail-mounted operators sized to door mass, with a manual release and battery backup, and sealed control gear given the dust. Safety reversal is set and tested at handover.
What a sectional garage door costs in Vanderbijlpark
Priced on width and height, panel type, insulation, finish and automation. Single and double doors are quoted separately because the balance and operator specification changes with the mass.
Common questions
About sectional garage doors
Around 300mm to 450mm of clear space above the lintel for a standard track, though low-headroom kits recover part of that. Measure to the ceiling or the nearest beam, whichever is lower, and send us the figure before you order anything.
The panels are hinged and run on rollers in a track rather than curling around a barrel, and the section joints seal against each other. On an insulated door the foam core also damps the drumming that makes a single-skin door boom.
Yes. Glazed panels can go into any section, most often the second row down so daylight comes in at eye level. Toughened, frosted and tinted glass are all available, and an aluminium-framed full-view door is a step further again.
They have more moving parts than a tip-up door — rollers, hinges, cables and springs — so an annual service matters more. In exchange the wear is spread across many small parts that are cheap to replace individually.
